Hearth And Hill
Starting our roundup of what’s new on menus this month – Park City’s Hearth and Hill who recently rolled out a new menu, and one inspired by their members of their Filipino hailing kitchen team. First up there a fabulous-looking chicken inasal. Pictured top, the dish is the work of sous chef, Angelito Joyo. Priced $32 a gruyère polenta cake is topped with chicken, sautéed kale, pancetta, pearl onion, squash purée, pickled papaya, and herb gravy. The creation is based on a recipe from Joyo’s grandmother – always a great sign.
More Southeast Asian flair comes courtesy of sous Patrick Calipay, with his Ngohiong egg roll. The dish sports tofu, bean sprouts, jicama, carrot, onion, five-spice gravy and is priced at $10. Joining the duo are several other refreshes including:
- Tomahawk pork chop, pear BBQ, balsamic braised potatoes, broccolini, chorizo & pistachio crumble, $35
- Pork and shrimp shumai, house-made dumpling, garlic chili, $16
- Avocado toast and eggs benedict, sourdough, smoked salmon, chimichurri, poached egg, feta, $17 (brunch only)
BTG
At this downtown SLC wine bar sommelier Louis Koppel told me several new warmer weather specials are hitting the menu now. He explained:
“A featherweight California rose by Matthiasson and a more powerful pink from a lesser known grape- Caladoc- which is a cross between Malbec and Grenache- both featured in our “Pretty in Pink” flight. We are also giving our guests a chance to taste history in a glass with a grape from Armenia that just might be the start of viticulture- Areni- by Yacoubian-Hobbs. That along with the grape Nerello Cappuccio from Sicily are the red wines in our new “Indigenous” flight. We are also excited to offer a Chianti Classico which pairs beautifully with the Caffe Molise menu- always a menu option for our guests.” ”
Whiskey Street
The Spring menu has now rolled out at this Main Street staple. Updated dishes include:
- Ahi tuna tataki, sesame, Fresno chile, pineapple, cilantro, pickled onion, soy ginger, $16
- Fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, green goddess, balsamic, frisée, $14 – add pork belly for $2
- Strawberry spinach salad, strawberries, fried goat cheese, spiced nuts, red onion, balsamic vinaigrette, $16
- Smoked chicken, airline breast and thigh, Alabama white sauce, spring vegetable hash, wilted greens, $28
- Crab and prawn spaghetti, Dungeness crab, prawns, roasted garlic, asparagus, lemon cream, gremolata, $32
Feldman’s Deli
Meeting the improving weather head-on at Feldman’s is a new seasonally apropos soup. The brand-new watermelon gazpacho is served with chive crema, olive oil, cucumbers, and with a wedge of lime.
Before chowing down on one of the restaurant’s signature sandwiches this appetizer should help offset any guilt about finishing one of the half-pound monsters in one sitting – something I’m all too familiar with. Sidenote: this would be doubly perfect to enjoy on the restaurant’s patio which has also opened up recently for the season.
St. Regis Deer Valley
The St. Regis are now offering a beer and burger special for $25. The deal is available in both the casual 7452 Brasserie restaurant or the attached chic bar. The classic cheeseburger (pictured top sans cheese) comes with classic frites, and a signature St. Regis beer. The special deal is available during lunch or dinner every Tuesday. The burger packs on two patties (replted with plenty of smokey grill char from my experience), American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and smoked tomato mayo. On the beverage side choose from Cousin Jack IPA, Tipsy Trolley Pilsner, Main Street Mexican Lager or 537 Imperial Pilsner.
Other specials at the resort include a 20% discount on all RIME menu items every Wednesday; as well as complimentary corkage every Thursday for lunch or dinner at the St. Regis Bar, Brasserie 7452 or RIME.
Adelaide
New menus at the Le Meridien hotel’s signature restaurant space are wide-ranging, with all three services seeing a refresh. The dinner menu features dishes such as fried oysters and caviar, jambalaya fettuccine, bone-in Iberico pork chop, as well as a fruit de mer piled with gulf shrimp, oysters in a half shell, crab legs, ravigote, cocktail sauce and pineapple mignonette. Want to sample a raft of dishes? The restaurant has also rolled out two new prix-fixe options as well – priced at $85 per person, or $175 per person.

Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand.
