Feldman’s Deli giveaway
What better way to support restaurants right now than buy gift cards and supporting them with cold hard cash flow – and that’s exactly what we’re doing too over the next few weeks. We’re giving away two $25 gift cards to Feldman’s Deli – easily the best sandwiches you can buy in SLC. Don’t even argue.
The business recent launched a new online ordering tool and is keenly providing a curbside pickup service right now. Pro tip: sandwiches are the very best carbo-comfort foods in these stressed times.
To enter to win one of the gift cards, simply ensure you’re a subscriber to our newsletter and comment on this post. In your comment let us know what you’re enjoying ordering curbside right now! For a bonus entry, check out our Instagram page where we’re giving another away too.
P.s. I’ll pick some winners towards the end of the week and send winners gift cards in the mail.

Beltex Meats – The award winning butcher Beltex moves to delivery only for the time being. Call to place your order. Link.
Bar Wears
Word came to me just in the last 24 hours of the brand new website – barwears.com. The website is the brainchild of several local designers looking to support the local industry via clever apparel. 100% of the profits generated are to be directly donated to Project Tip Your Server. Check out the Coachman’s T-shirt with the “I was pleasantly surprised” slogan. If you know, you know…
Moving online
This is a trend I’d love to see continue. Many businesses are starting to look at how they can transition their events into online formats. Here’s the first two I’ve heard of.
Caputo’s – The downtown gourmet hotspot looks set to continue with their well regarded series of educational events. More info.
Yoshi’s Japanese Grill – Possibly offering a sushi class online based on demand. The restaurant writes, “You would go to the Murray/Downtown location between 4pm-6pm to pick up all the needed supplies. You will be sent a link to join a Zoom video call at 6:45pm. Chef Eddeesan will walk you through how to roll your own sushi roll! Each sushi making “kit” would be $25 and it makes 3 different sushi rolls. We thought this might be a fun date/family night thing to do.” More info.

Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.

Had some jinya ramen last night!
Great suggestions. So far we’ve been sticking to making food at home but we need to expand to some of these offerings.
We’ve gotten takeout at Red Rock and Proper Burger so far. Hopkins, Feldman’s, Lonestar, and Freshie’s are coming up…
Just had Pretty bird yesterday thank God they are still open
We LOVE Feldman’s, but tonight we are going to grab some Oh Mai
We are going to support Del Mar Al Lago if they are still open! Ordering curbside of course!
Greek city grill is our favorite! Love supporting local
Only thing I’ve done is a Burger Kind drive thru to take advantage of 2 free kids meals with app purchase.
Been ordering out some and cooking a lot!!
Cooking most days, but also have to-die-for lobster rolls from Freshies. Sign up for their emails and they’ll let you know when they have specials. They frequently have specials!
Sicilia Mia! Huge portion sizes and great food. Their carbonara is fantastic, same with their spaghetti bolognese.
This weekend I got curbside with Spitz beastmode (thanks to your delicious looking post) and some Costa Vida as well.
Curbside pickup at Original Pancake House (Sandy) for their terrific baked omelets. Order them made with egg whites and they come out like a souffle. We also substitute smashed black beans for the potatoes.
I’m enjoying Diversion since it’s close to my apt
We ordered from HSL last week and plan to order from Afghan Kitchen, this week.
We’ve done Vessel Kitchen and Aubergine, but mostly cooking at home
Finally tried Freshies for the first time via carry-out…the lobster rolls truly live up to the hype! Also got Pretty Bird to-go which is always a good choice 😁.
Can’t argue with you, Feldman’s is excellent!
