Exclusive wine dinner to showcase Sicilian flavors

Mina - main dining room (Gastronomic SLC)

‘mina

October 1st
6.00 – 8.00 p.m.
$100 per person
Tickets

One of the more exciting items about the opening of ‘mina this year, was the promise of the Sicilian restaurant’s wine list; a celebration of the vineyards that flourish on the volcanic soil of the famous island. With that in mind, mark October 1st in your diary for this extra special wine dinner that will feature Feudo Montoni. Co-owner and sommelier Giro Messeri writes:

“What interested us the most about the winery is that winemaker, Fabio Sireci, has never bought a vine from a nursery. Every vine on the estate is propagated from vines already growing there, including a plot of century-old Nero d’Avola still on its own roots, ungrafted, which almost nothing in Europe survived phylloxera to do. Sireci now operates the estate with his wife, Melissa Muller, the American chef who wrote Sicily: The Cookbook for Rizzoli and first came to Montoni to interview him for it. She has since revived antique Sicilian grain and vegetable varieties on the property.”

The menu for the evening is as follows:

  • Benvenuto, Ceci: crispy panelle, whipped aged pecorino, preserved lemon
  • Antipasto, Carciofo: confit and roasted artichoke, cow ricotta crema, toasted almonds, micro mint, crispy breadcrumbs
  • Primo, Fusilli al ragù bianco di maiale: fresh fusilli al ferretto, white pork ragù, pecorino
  • Secondo di pesce, Spada all’olio: olive oil poached swordfish, cauliflower steak, saffron oil, golden raisins, fried capers
  • Secondo di carne: braised beef, celery root purée, red wine demi-glace
  • Dolce, Ricotta semifreddo: sheep’s milk ricotta, local honey balsamic glaze, pistachio, candied orange

I’m told Chef Leonardo Li Mura crafted the menu specially around the food of Sicily’s interior (reflecting the terroir of the winery), which switches things up from the traditional coastal-inspired menu you’ll see at the restaurant.

The six courses will be paired exclusively with the estate’s indigenous varieties, concluding with Vrucara, their old-vine Nero d’Avola. And no, you didn’t read that price tag wrong; it’s $100 combined for both food and all six wine pairings – an extraordinarily good value for these formats.

tupelo

tupelo invites guests to a night with Tequila Komos, the highest-rated tequila collection ever and home to the first perfect 100-point tequila. The Tequila Komos distiller will join the evening to pour and walk guests through each expression, served neat and just chilled, in a wine glass. The dinner’s four curated courses, prepared by Chef Matthew Harris, and tequila pairings include:

  • Yellowfin tuna crudo, mango and osetra caviar
    • Añejo Cristalino

Park City ski shot returns

October 10th, 2.00 p.m.
$30 per person
Tickets

After setting a world record for the world’s longest ski shot in 2025 (1,410 shots supped at once in case you wondered), Park City was ultimately bested by Breckenridge, which downed ten more just a few months later. This year the PC even returns for the tenth iteration, hoping to claim the title once more. Here’s the presser:

. . .

The Park City Sunrise Rotary Club celebrates a decade of raising a glass in the name of charity with the 10th Annual Park City Sunrise Shot Ski presented by High West Distillery. The beloved event supports local grant programs, and will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. on Main Street.

In its tenth year, the Park City Shot Ski™ aims to set a new world record of 1,430 shots on the event shot ski – each brimming with High West Double Rye whiskey – and raise an unprecedented $86,000 to support Park City Sunrise Rotary Club’s Community Grant Program.

“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating ten years of the Park City Sunrise Shot Ski, and we invite locals to join the fun in support of our community organizations,” said Park City Sunrise Rotary Club Member Monika Guendner.“Whether purchasing tickets, securing a sponsorship, or donating skis to be part of the event’s official shot ski, there is an opportunity to get involved and help make this event our most successful yet.”
