Upcoming food and drink events in July for your calendar

July 16th, 7.00 p.m.

Taste pink, white, orange, and red wines from four different countries at this colorful paired dinner event. Each wine will be paired with a dish from Caffe Molise’s chef Earl Moesinger, menu TBA. Sommelier Louis Koppel confirmed the lineup of wines as follows, providing tasting notes for each:

  • Li Veli, Rose of Negroamaro, Puglia, Italy – aromatic with talc and watermelon rind with a savory, bright mineral streak
  • Bonny Doon, Cigare Orange, CA – peach, apricot and citrus, fragrant and refreshing
  • Capitello, Sauvignon Blanc, NZ, specially ordered for BTG – bright and zingy, with a mint and jalapeno character. A wine from an artisan and family-owned winery in New Zealand
  • Analemma, Mencia, OR, special ordered for BTG – medium bodied, with bright cherry, raspberry, florals, silky and lean. Organic and biodynamically farmed estate fruit

Cost for the event is $100 per person, or $50 for food, and $50 for wine. Call the restaurant at (801) 359-2814 for reservations.

July 11th – 13th

A trio of events is coming up at the Central 9th bar (which recently celebrated Rio Connelly’s recognition as a certified pommelier) to celebrate Bastille Day. Therein:

  • Friday, July 11th – oyster pop-up with Sunburst Fog, no tickets required
  • Saturday, July 12th – cheese & charcuterie – French edition
  • Sunday, July 13th – Brunch by chef Franck – crepes & pastries – tickets required

On that last event, the bar confirms that yes, “that Chef Franck Peissel – who has launched his own beautiful new food trailer, Saveurs de France – and he will be preparing a special menu of savory and sweet crepes and French pastries for our Bastille Bash Weekend Sunday Brunch!”

The next installment of Taste Of Montage returns to the luxe Deer Valley resort in July. Now in its second seasonal run, guests can indulge in light bites from the property’s various dining outlets, including: Apex, Burgers & Bourbon, Slope Stream, Yama Sushi, Daly’s Pub & Rec, and the Montage Pastry team.

General admission is priced at $75 and includes one tasting from each restaurant, as well as valet parking. VIP admission is priced at $150 and includes a complimentary glass of champagne, caviar bump, unlimited food tastings, and a $50 dining credit per party to use towards any of the seven dining restaurants on site – any time throughout the year. Guaranteed seating and complimentary valet parking are also included with the VIP pass.

Also getting in on the Bastille Day fun, the signature restaurant within the Grand America hotel. Over a three-day window, a special three-course prix-fixe menu will be offered to diners. The French-themed meal includes:

  • French onion soup, or fennel salad
  • Steak frite or Scottish salmon
  • Dessert – choose from any dessert on the menu

The price for the set menu is $45 per person.

Deer Valley Resort

July 11th – 13th

A new Fire & Flavor festival hits the resort in July, celebrating the art of live-fire cooking. The experience kicks off on July 11th with a VIP reception and dinner by chef Ryan Arensdorf.

On July 12th and 13th (11.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.), enjoy an open-to-the-public festival on Silver Lake Lawn – Deer Valley’s lift-served mid-mountain hub. Enjoy signature dishes from chefs Ryan Arensdorf, Sarah Glover, Peter Menteer, and Sam Phelan, along with open-fire demos, planked salmon, smoked specialties, live music, and beer pairings from five Utah breweries.

Festival admission is free with the purchase of a $10 lift ticket from Snow Park. One child may ride free per paying adult. Food and beverages are sold a la carte throughout the festival, with each culinary station offering a $25 plate. More details.

July 4th Specials

Deer Valley Cafe – July 3rd through 6th (noon – 3.00 p.m.) a holiday menu features pulled pork sandwiches, smoked Niman Ranch brisket, cheeseburgers, brats, and hot dogs. 

Hyatt Centric Park City – Double smash brisket burger and a side for $17.76. Canyons Peach Lemonade will be half off all day long. 

Goldener Hirsch – July 3 at 4 p.m. – Learn the art of cocktail making and craft two signature drinks, while soaking in sweeping mountain views from Park City’s only rooftop pool deck.

Montage – Enjoy a Fourth of July cookout at Montage Deer Valley’s Slope Stream (pictured above) restaurant featuring a variety of summer classics, 2.00 – 5.00 p.m.  

Tupelo – Celebrate America’s birthday and Tupelo’s 10th anniversary with a special $10 for 10 Years Menu of fresh bites, wines, and an Old Fashioned cocktail. Each item costs only $10.

Hops On The Hill

July 15th (onwards), 6.00 – 8.00 p.m.

Returning to Stein Eriksen Lodge for another Summer stint – the popular Hops on the Hill event. Sip craft beers (from a rotating lineup of guest brewers) while enjoying a seasonal menu prepared by Chef Zane Holmquist on the Flagstaff Deck. Tuesday nights beginning July 15 through August 19, 2025, from 6.00 – 8.00 p.m. The price for the 21+ event is $90 per person, with a food-only ticket available at the door for $45.

Participating local breweries featured each week will be as follows:

  • July 22 – 2 ROW & Bewilder
  • July 29 – Fisher & Epic
  • August 5 – Mountain West & Top of Main
  • August 12 – Prost & Helper Beer

Urban Hill

Sadly, the collaboration I mentioned last week – between Manoli’s Manoli Katsanevas and UH’s Nick Zocco – has now sold out. Still, the restaurant team indicated to me that those with some credit in the bank with Lady Luck, can add their name to a wait list in case of cancellations. Head to Resy and the Urban Hill listing to book a standby spot. The meal looks tremendous. Here’s the menu:
