Craft By Proper
The last pint has been poured at this Sugar House bar. Notable for being the only bar in Utah (at least that I am aware of) that poured Utah-only beers – June 20th was the last night. The closure comes barely a month after neighboring bar Quarters confirmed its closure; the two departures look set to change the feel of this central core of the area.
The move only affects the Sugar House arm of the popular local brewer (pictured top in the center of the image). They will continue to operate Avenues Proper, Proper Burger, Proper Pub, and their long-running brewery. A social media release on the closure reads as follows:

“To our friends, chosen family, neighbors, and fellow misfit toys – After years of beers, music, games, runs, laughter, late nights, and unforgettable memories, the time has come to say goodbye to Craft. Our final day of service will be Saturday, June 20.
Craft was never just a bar. It was a home for the weird, the creative, the curious, and anyone looking for community. Together, we built a space where people could show up exactly as they are, find their people, and feel welcome.
To everyone who played trivia, bingo, or Blood on the Clocktower, shared their art, hosted an event, ended a run, sang karaoke, danced until last call, made a friend, fell in love, celebrated a milestone, or simply spent an afternoon with us over a pint, thank you. You made this place what it was.
While this chapter is ending, the community we worked so hard to build doesn’t disappear. The connections, friendships, and memories created within these walls will continue long after the doors close.
We love every single person who chose to spend their time with us. We see you. We remember you. We will never forget you.
Please come raise a glass with us one last time before we close. We’d love the chance to celebrate, reminisce, and thank you in person. On our final night, Saturday, June 20, we’ll be open from 4 PM to 1 AM, and DJ Kid Kayd will be helping us dance this chapter to a close.

Provisions
This Millcreek restaurant also took to Instagram to signal their upcomnig closure. After more than ten years, the restaurant will be closing on July 3rd. The farewell note posted noted the restaurant will offer 2-for-1 specials in their final days of business:

“After 12 incredible years, we’re closing this chapter of Provisions on July 3rd.
It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for the support, the loyalty, and the opportunity to serve this community over the years. What started as a dream became something much bigger because of you — the guests who came back again and again, celebrated with us, and made this place feel like home.
As a small thank you, we’ll be offering 2-for-1 entrées until we close. For reservations, please call the restaurant directly — we are no longer taking bookings through OpenTable. Walk-ins are also welcome.
This isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we can’t wait to share what’s ahead. Stay tuned — there’s a lot to look forward to. With deep appreciation, Chef Tyler & the Provisions team”
A following post from the business a few days later, indicated the operators were likely to try a new concept in the space, posting:
“What started in our second year became a love for brunch that would stay with us and spawn another brunch brand, serving thousands every week. Thank you Salt Lake City, it was a private. 🫶🏻 Stay tuned, we are not done yet, a new style of brunch incoming.”
