The wraps came off of Salt Lake City’s newest liquor store (1615 S. Foothill Drive) this morning. The doors opened at 11.00 a.m. marking the end for the stop gap store (1414 S. Foothill Drive) that has served the area for the past five years.

The new Foothill opening follows the template we’ve seen across a number of modern-minded locations in recent years. The 2023 debut of the Sandy location was followed up last Summer with the impressive new Downtown opening – Utah’s first two-story liquor store.

The new 13,230-square-foot Foothill opening follows the same blueprint as the downtown liquor store becoming the second location in the state to flow over two floors. Similarly, the Foothill location features a “Proudly Utah” selection of Beehive-borne products (pictured top is an example from the Taylorsville store) as well as nearly two dozen doors of refrigerated products.

DABS executive director Tiffany Clason writes, “The DABS is excited to open the new Foothill store to better serve this tight-knit community and support all Utahns through the revenue it generates that goes directly to state and local services and programs.”

Per a press release from the department, the new store’s anticipated revenue in fiscal year 2026 is $7.3 million – of which nearly $3 million will go to state and local governments.  The store will operate Monday to Saturday, 11.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m.
