Taiwanese to Japanese omakase detailed in latest writeups by local press

9-UP Night Market - braiased pork belly bao (Gastronomic SLC)

Since our last roundup in February, let’s take another look over what food writers in Utah have been running the rule over. First up Alex Springer takes in six different businesses as well as running a piece on a variety of local comfort foods.

On the standalone review front, Springer hits up Arigato Sushi (West Jordan), White Tomato (Draper), Manoli’s (SLC), Big Dipper (Downtown SLC), Tacos 1905 (South Jordan), and 9-UP Night Market (South Salt Lake). 9-UP is one of my favorites in SoSL, you might recall me writing this piece on their first-class bao (pictured top), and Taiwanese-style popcorn chicken.

Over in Utah Stories, Ted Scheffler heads to Capital Grille (Downtown SLC) for lunch as well as checking out the all new Le Depot Brasserie (Park City), and Bar A Vin (SLC). Scheffler also recounts a multi-course omakase experience at Post Office Place (Downtown SLC).

Salt Lake Magazine offers up a couple of pieces. Greg Brinkman writes about the talented Sara Sergent of Alpine Distilling, while Lydia Martinez covers Matteo (Downtown SLC).

In other publications, Kim Bojórquez of Axios writes a brief piece on the all-new Junah (Central 9th) – the latest effort from the folks behind the wonderful Koyote. Meg Walter of the Deseret News continues her quest for the best chips and salsa while in Slug, Rio Connelly talks about Templin Family Wines (SLC), and Christian Ledek visits The Bayou (SLC).
