Celebrate The Bounty
This years Celebrate The Bounty event is taking a different tack for 2018, in more ways than one. The celebration of all things local is back on Thursday September 13th, this year in the historic Eagle Building – the upcoming new home to Caffe Molise and BTG Wine Bar.
Moreover the event itself is taking a new approach by pairing Utah eateries with Utah distilleries to collaborate on a killer cocktail / tasting combo – each using their favorite local products. Restaurants signed up so far so far include:
Joining them with creative cocktails are:
Dented Brick Distillery
Honest Johns Bitters
Salt City Vodka
New World Distillery
Kid Curry Spirits
Sugar House Distillery
Celebrate the Bounty is Local First Utah’s annual fundraiser and is the place for Salt Lake City’s foodies, localvores and locally-minded consumers to come together and explore spectacular offerings from Utah’s finest locally owned restaurants and now distilleries! Finally – a quick mention of this fun event coming back again on August 11th. This all ages event features multiple taco venders from around Utah, participating in three contests: The Best Traditional Taco, The Best Veggie Taco, and The Best Creative Taco awards.
Last year, with the help of everyone involved, Tacofest raised $7,500 for Meals On Wheels – feeding over 1,000 MOW recipients! 2018 hoeps to be even bigger and better with food vendors as follows:
Jurassic Street Tacos
El Calor Restaurant
Asadero Rio Sonora
Maize Food Truck
Nene Sammy Taco Truck
The House of Rob Sauce
El Mini Taco
Cost is just $5 for adults, Kidds under 13 are free. The venue will be at Centro Civico Mexicano, the same as last years inaugural event.

Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC; I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV shows.
I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have covered the Utah dining scene for the better part of fifteen years. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
