BTG Wine Bar – Fancy trying a glass of something new? Sommelier Louis Koppel wrote to us with what’s exciting this month at SLC’s best wine bar. “Our feature board is always buzzing with a few interesting whites and reds.

We’re currently pouring a cru Beaujolais, tThe Bulliat, Morgon 2014. It costs $6 for a 2 ounce pour or $12 for 5 ounces. We’re also pouring the Via Toaci Friuliano, 2012, Mendocino, CA. 2 ounces is and $5 and 5 ounces $10 – this is another special order wine with only 40 cases made. A 2011 Mount Veeder, Cabernet is $8 for 2 ounces and $16 for 5 ounces. Plus we’ve also some more treasures we’re waiting to reveal, like a Musar vertical tasting and West Cork 10 year Irish Scotch and Macallan 18 hitting the menu too.”

Stanza – Flight & Bite continues in Stanza’s snazzy lounge, every Wednesday throughout February. Wine educator and sommelier Jimmy Santangelo hand selects wines and educates diners about the nuances of each. “While we bring in most of these selections by special order and they’ll be sold in flights in the restaurant during the entire month,” says Santangelo. “Wednesdays are your chance for education and paired bites from the kitchen. Plus, the camaraderie in the lounge has such great energy, you just gotta come check it out.”

This February, three separate flights are available. Each includes two 2-1/2 oz. splashes of wine and two “bites” of Stanza’s Italian bistro cuisine that have been carefully paired with the flavor profile of each wine selection.
