Salt Lake Magazine 2011 dining awards

Its that time of year again, yep, award season. Salt Lake magazine presented its 12th Annual Dining Awards to Utah restaurants this Tuesday evening. The annual ceremony honors chefs and restaurateurs from throughout the state. Salt Lake magazine executive and dining editor Mary Brown Malouf and her panel of judges honored 34 chefs, restaurants and food professionals. The panel of judges included Malouf, local food critic Virginia Rainey, executive director of the Downtown Alliance Jason Mathis and wine expert and sommelier James Santangelo.

“This year was somewhat of a culinary revolution in Utah,” said Salt Lake magazine executive and dining editor Mary Brown Malouf. “We are seeing a whole new way of eating—dining in Utah has changed for the better.” Awards included the induction of Squatters Pub Brewery into the Salt Lake magazine Dining Hall of Fame, which includes Mazza, Red Iguana, Log Haven, Cucina Toscana and Takashi.
