Having just returned from a week long work trip to Washington DC it’s refreshing to read some sane food pricing once more. Man alive what a pricey town! A trip like that really helps to put into focus what you have at home, and to be very, very glad. Anyway, local reviews in the last 10 days or are as follows:
Pago (Salt Lake Tribune), Normandie Cafe and Bakery (Salt Lake Tribune), Tipica (City Weekly), Nagoya Sushi (Deseret News), Rancho Burrito (Deseret News), Koko Kitchen (In Utah This Week), Braza Grill (In Utah This Week), Sapa Sushi Bar and Asian Grill (SLC examiner), Cafe Rio (Now Utah), Star of India lunch buffet (SLC examiner), Bruges Waffles and Frites (Salt City Food), Esther’s Cafe dollar menu (In Utah This Week).
Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
