Restaurants open Sunday in Salt Lake City 2021

Sunday isn’t the dining apocalypse it once was in SLC. There are now many restaurants open Sunday in Salt Lake City, and the following are some the best. Sundays in SLC can be so much more than a boring old roast dinner – you can find everything from sushi to steaks to…well, you name it, you can probably find it these days in Salt Lake.

While the featured restaurants below are some of the very best places you can eat on Sunday in Utah, it’s by no means exhaustive. Check out the two following links on our sister site SLC Menu, for more detailed info on Sunday dining in SLC as well:

SLC Eatery

SLC Eatery is the work of chefs Paul Chamberlain and Logen Crew – a duo who you might recognize from their award winning time at Fresco Italian Restaurant way back when; and what a team they make, SLC Eatery is undoubtedly one of Utah’s top restaurants, and luckily for you – open Sundays too! The cuisine spans a range of global influences, Indian to Mexican to Chinese, all tied together with New American sensibilities; think fresh, seasonal, local products where possible.

One particular item that stands out at SLC Eatery, is their take on the classic dim sum experience. As you enter the restaurant take note of the specials board, and during your email you’ll see a small plates cart make its way through the room. Feel free to order up anything that takes your fancy at your own pace – and trust me – it’s hard to not grab pretty much everything.

The feel is chic but relaxed, stop in for a couple of small plates and a glass of wine, or make it an evening with a full meal – but whatever you do, make sure to hit up this unique dining destination before the crowds discover it!

  1. Wow still a dessert. All the best most interesting restaurants are still closed. The restaurants named with the exception if lucky 13 are awful. And lucky 13 i love but it is always packed.

    1. Nikki: These are just some of our favorites, we have a lot more restaurants open Sunday’s than just these. If you want any specific pointers just let me know and we can suggest many more.

  2. I, for one, really appreciate this article. As a heathen who eats out with family on sundays (hehe), I’m always looking for a good restaurant that we haven’t tried yet, and you offer a good range of ethnic variety too.
Stuart Melling: If you know more options, please list them! You know, I google-searched ‘SLC restaurants open Sundays’ to find specific restaurant names, not just a reassurance that they exist. 😉 I look to you for your expert guidance.

  3. Thanks foodradar! Gracie’s looks like beautiful food, and we’ve been looking for a good cajun place so I’ll definitely have to mention Bayou next time. What do you like at Squatters?
Stuart Melling, We like to try different places when we go out, though if there’s a restaurant that really strikes our fancy then we’ll return. We travel the range of SLC & Utah Valley, and delight in full variety of burger joints and foreign cuisine alike. Generally we prefer a price range where average entree is $9, but we’ve been known to crash much more expensive places as well as fast foods. In fact, if you just have a list, or a good search reference (besides google-searching “SLC sunday restaurants), I’ll take that, and I bet we’ll work our way through it.
    Yum! 😛

  4. What about in Sandy/South Jordan and surrounding areas. Have family coming Easter sunday and was looking for somewhere to celebrate my nieces birthday

    1. I don’t dine much in the South of the valley I am afraid. Restaurants of note in the Sandy area though include Fratelli (Italian), Tiburon (New American fine dining) and India House (Indian). In all three cases they are open Sunday to varying hours. I’ve visited each of these over the years, but none of them in a long long time. When I have been they were pleasant enough meals, but again, in each case its been several years.

Sandy (while still limited) is far better than South Jordan, which is almost an apocalyptic nightmare of 100% chain restaurants. The only could of restaurants I can think of out there, worthy of mention are a sall mom and pop Thai eatery and Carvers steakhouse. I’ve tried neither though personally.
