There’s not a huge amount to report in our final menu watch article of the year. For restaurants, it’s the time of year they make the big bucks from group and holiday bookings; not really the time to update a whole menu. That said, there’s plenty of festive fun to be had across the three big bash days. Here are those we know about right now…

Christmas Day
White Horse / Whiskey Street
Need to escape the family, turkey and airing of grievances? Two of downtown SLC’s best have you covered. Both of these bars will be open at 5 p.m. on Xmas day.
Whiskey Street was also recently voted as both best liquor selection and best bar/club menu, surely handily helped by the full lineup of Pappy Van Winkle, pictured above. If you need to raise a glass of something curative on the big day, head downtown and check em out.

Food talk
Want to discuss this post or the SLC food scene in general? Check out our Facebook group and come talk with other likeminded SLC foodies.
Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
Want to know more? This is why I am the way I am.
