Oasis Cafe On Pioneer Day
Oasis Cafe will open for a special Pioneer Day brunch Wednesday, July 24, from 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The lunch menu is also available from 2:30 – 5 p.m. and dinner is served from 5 – 9 p.m.
“This is our first time we’ve ever been open past 2:30 for light lunch fare and dinner on Pioneer Day,” said General Manager Will Keesen. “We had so many calls last year hoping we were open that we’ve decided to bend to popular demand. Of course, the evening highlight will be our nightly three-course $25 special.” The weekly offering for July 22 – 28 by Chef de Cuisine Efren Benitez starts off with soup or salad, then moves to a light and healthy swordfish over bell pepper soft polenta topped with Swiss chard and red beets (pictured top), and ends with a delicious Tiramisù.
Guest brunch favorites include the delectable eggs Benedict Florentine, German buttermilk pancakes with blueberry compote, and the over-the-top breakfast burrito that’s brimming with eggs, Spanish rice, black beans, roasted peppers, cheddar cheese, sour cream, guacamole and red chili sauce in a whole wheat tortilla. The huevos rancheros and Oasis scramble are very popular dishes, as well as Multigrain waffles. Each menu selection is designed with a perfect balance for taste, health, wellbeing and artful design, hence the motto “Eat Responsibly.”

Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
