Feast Of The Five Senses – A few last tickets still remain for this fun food and wine event at the weekend. If you’re keen to toast the change of the seasons and support a great cause at the same time, this is the perfect event. Buy tickets here now before they sell out.
If you’ve never been, the event is certainly one of the best on the yearly dining calendar. The evening starts with a social hour (or more if you get there prompt and early) of sipping and snacking. Cocktails this year are poured by Manoli’s and High West Distillery with impeccable wines by Francis Fecteau of Libation. Red Rock provide beer too. While you sip and mingle, you can take part in a silent auction replete with some great foodie items, while also snacking on passed appetizers too.
From there it’s into the main dining room and a multi-course tasting menu from some of SLC’s best chefs. Every course is also expertly paired too. This years chef lineup includes:
Jen Gilroy of Meditrina and Porch
Raul Mendez of Frida Bistro
Wayne Mankinen of Bon Appetit
Lavanya Mahate of Saffron Valley
Harmons Specialty Cheese
Kris Tart of Wasatch Creamery
Philip Grubisa of Beltex Meats
Park City Culinary Institute Salt Lake City Campus
Tom Grant of Blended Table
Jung Kim and Jungmin Kim of Ahtti Korean Munchies
Spice Kitchen Incubator
The whole shebang benefits Slow Food Utah micro-grant program, helping to build a strong and vibrant local food community. Tickets cost $125 per person. Booze pairings are available for an additional $35. The event kicks off at 5.30 p.m. sharp this Sunday, October 15th at Westminster College’s Jewett Center for the Performing Arts. Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
