This Saturday, October 4th, sees the 2025 return of the yearly celebration of SoSL’s best and brightest. The popular open-air collection of brewers, makers, artists, and more runs noon till 5.00 p.m. on Oakland Avenue (between Main Street and West Temple at 2460 S.)
Expect all the big names from the city’s brewing and distilling scene (the likes of Level Crossing, Grid City, Beehive Distilling, and more). In total, four breweries and three distillers will be joined by five food trucks and 100 varied vendors.
The event celebrates the Creative Industry Zone in the heart of South Salt Lake, which seeks to be a “supportive and welcoming community stimulating local economic growth through creative, small businesses such as music, drink, dance, art, print, design, and craftsman industries that produce and sell hand-made products for local enjoyment.”
Organisers from the event also promise hand-painted kegs and barrels from local artists (available via auction), live music, muralists, and a complimentary, secure bike valet. The event is all ages and free to attend. For more info, see https://www.sslarts.org/craftoberfest.

A little further out for sure, but Italian food and wine lovers might want to lock this date in now. The award-winning Italian eatery is pushing the boat out with a very special-looking wine dinner. The business writes, “all twenty regions of Italy bring a unique distinctive character to the plate and the glass, and we want to share them all with you. Experience the breadth and diversity of Italian cuisine and wine when you taste 20 regional dishes paired with 20 wines.”
The restaurant was one of only seven in Utah to receive a “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine this June. Cost for the event is $275 per person. See their FB post for more info and reservations.

Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
