4th West Oktoberfest
Mountain West Cider and Red Rock Brewery will be celebrating Oktoberfest together again on 4th West this year. The 3rd annual celebration, officially titled “4th West Oktoberfest,” runs the weekend of Saturday, September 29th to Sunday, September 30th at 425 North 400 West in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year, 4th West Oktoberfest will be hosted in The Garten, Salt Lake City’s premier biergarten. The festival will feature Mountain West’s hard ciders and Red Rock’s craft beers, among other special guest beverages. Only those of legal drinking age will be allowed to consume these alcoholic beverages, however all ages are invited to join in on the fun.
4th West Oktoberfest will include live music from local artists Murphy & The Giant, Will Baxter Band, Hollering Pines, Mountain Country, and Christian Coleman. “We are excited to host 4th West Oktoberfest at The Garten this year. We designed this modern-style biergarten specifically with this event in mind. It’s the perfect location to soak in the sun during the day and enjoy s’mores at night, all while sipping on a refreshing cider or beer,” says Jennifer Carleton, owner of Mountain West Cider.
Local food trucks Shylo’s Mobile Café and Gerlach’s, are scheduled to be at the event both days. San Diablo Churros will be in attendance on Saturday, while Lulu’s Churros will join in on Sunday. Marmalade Coffee Co. will serve local coffee until 1pm both days. Also serving, will be local breweries Bohemian, and Toasted Barrel Brewery who is also located off 4th West. A specialty cocktail will be served by Ogden’s Own Distillery, using Five Wives Vodka and Porter’s Huckleberry whiskey liqueur will be available.
4th West Oktoberfest will host a great group of community partners and local vendors including Mark Miller Subaru, Yelp, Salt Lake Film Society, Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, We Olive, The Green Urban Lunchbox, Beautiful Uprising, Sugar House Pup Cakes, Silvermoon Restoratives, Dappr Tire, Jessica Burleson Art, 4th West Apartments, Little Cottonwood Collection, To the T Design, and Stefahn’s Barbershop, among many others.
Games such as Cornhole, giant Jenga, and ring toss provide even more entertainment for festival-goers. And a children’s craft table stocked with coloring pages and crayons is available exclusively for the young ones.
General one-day admission for the event is $8 ($7 on Groupon) and includes a 4th West Oktoberfest drinking mug. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free to the event. Non-drinkers will be offered a $6 admission.

Kiitos Brewing
Lastly, one more beery bash, this one directly from Facebook. Also note, free pizza:
Kiitos Brewing will be 1 year old and we would love to celebrate with everyone. We will be fencing off the parking lot for food, fun, and drinks outside, as well as opening up the warehouse to the public. Our friends at Lucky Slice Pizza will be selling pies and also giving out one free slice of pizza to all guests, and Social Axe Throwing will be bringing their mobile unit for some good ol’ axe throwing fun.
Many other games like corn hole, darts, spike ball, et cetera. Karaoke in the warehouse for those brave souls that live to sing in front of others. 4 new beers will be released for this event! Come play with us, and raise a glass to give thanks to craft brews!

Food talk
Want to discuss this post or the SLC food scene in general? Check out our Facebook group and come talk with other likeminded SLC foodies.
Hi, I’m Stuart, nice to meet you! I’m the founder, writer and wrangler at Gastronomic SLC. I’m a multiple-award winning journalist and have written in myopic detail about the Salt Lake City dining scene for the better part of seventeen years.
I’ve worked extensively with multiple local publications from Visit Salt Lake to Salt Lake Magazine, not least helped to consult on national TV. Pause those credits, yep, that’s me! I’m also a former restaurant critic of more than five years, working for the Salt Lake Tribune. I’m largely fueled by a critical obsession with rice, alliteration and the use of big words I don’t understand. What they’re saying about me: “Not inaccurate”, “I thought he was older”, “I don’t share his feelings”.
Want to know more? This is why I am the way I am.
