We are excited to welcome back the great wine maker, Sebastian Nasello of Podere Le Ripi di Montalcino. We first introduced Sebastian to our VENETO community in March — so if you missed the opportunity to dine with him then, you’ll want to secure your seat now, for another edifying and enjoyable evening. Five wines of different vintages will be paired with a five-course meal.
Sebastian has been presented with the Giulio Gambelli award for best winemaker under 35. With the highest respect for the soil, the vine, the varietal, the vintage, and the territory — Sebastian’s work embodies the wine making style closest to the late Giulio Gambelli, the great master of Sangiovese.
The limited production, scarcity, and high awards make drinking Podere Le Ripi wines all the more special. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to spend an evening experiencing some of the most exceptional Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines around today. $190 per person, all inclusive.
The land of Podere Le Ripi is made up of 54 hectares of forest, vineyards and olive trees. Until 1998, the land was inhabited by only a shepherd and his sheep. It has uncontaminated soil and a marvelous vegetal variety, with breathtaking views and pure air. When it was purchased from the shepherd in 1998, there was not a single grapevine. In the year 2000, the grapes were planted and have since been cultivated with a great respect for the soil by using organic principles. Podere Le Ripi has been an official organic producer since 2013, and biodynamic since 2015.
