NHMU Taste Of The Summer
July 20, 2019 @ 10:00 am – July 21, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
The Natural History Museum of Utah will present a two-day summer food festival, The Taste of Summer, July 20 – 21 at the Rio Tinto Center, University of Utah, 301 Wakara Way, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. For the price of Museum admission, families can cool off, enjoy summertime games and activities, including making a large watermelon fan. Over the two days, The Taste of Summermarket will feature BBQ meals, gourmet ice cream and gelato, salsa, churros, and a wide array of baked desserts—all prepared for purchase by local food artisans.
Delicious culinary workshops, some geared for families, will be offered for an additional cost. The public is encouraged to register online soon for specific events, as there is limited availability. Workshops include Tart Making; the Science of Ice Cream; Herbal Treats; Summer Cheese Board, Salsa, and Charcuterie, and Marvelous Mocktails.
“We’ve made a visit to the Museum even more tantalizing, with our Taste of Summer event,” said Colleen McLaughlin, Museum public programs manager. “Not only can adults and kids enjoy some tasty treats on this special weekend, but they can also explore our 12 permanent exhibitions and our visually stunning special exhibit, Yellowstone: Invisible Boundaries. It’s a wonderful fusion of art and science featuring huge wildlife photos, cultural objects, original works of art, videos and an interactive 3D elk migration map of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The Taste of Summer is just one of many reasons to visit the Museum this summer.”
