Local Characters – Traditional VS Native Wine Tasting

Masterclass Utah’s unique thematic tastings are conducted in a variety of formats—from seminar-style workshops to curated chef table wine and food pairing experiences. Ticket prices vary for each event accordingly and seats are reserved directly through the venue partners indicated below. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Grapes are natural wanderers. Their phenomenal ability to adapt to diverse environments is made clear by the presence of viticulture across the globe. But how much time must pass before a wine-growing region can claim a specific grape its own? In this lineup of mono-varietal wines from northern and southern Italy, we’ll attempt to define the concept of typicity in wine by tasting native varietals alongside those whose regional identities have developed over time.
