We devote our next Winemaker Dinner, on Saturday, September 16 at 8pm, to
he King of Lambrusco!
And have the honor of welcoming Alberto Medici, owner of the historic house of Medici Ermete, which produces top of the range Lambrusco.
Not only ranked top of the range for over eight years in a row, they also hold the title of the winner of the famous Tre Bicchieri for the notorious Gambero Rosso, the most authoritative guide to Italian wines.
Lambrusco is one of the many indigenous grape varieties that Italy has to offer. It was found and produced in the province of Reggio Emilia e Modena. The high plain and the Emilian pedecolle are particularly suitable for growing grapes thanks to the microclimate and the characteristics of the clayey soil. In the shade of castles and ancient villages, the vines of Doc Reggiano and Colli of Scandiano and Canossa grow. The Medici Ermete wineries are located in Gaida, on Emilia street, just a few kilometers from the vineyards. Respecting a territory that maintains its bond with the rich wine and food tradition, the Medici family works with passion to ensure a more accurate selection of its grapes and the continuous modernization of processing technologies.
Over a five-course dinner, Alberto will share the rich history, stories, and facts about Lambrusco, probably one of the oldest grape varieties known to man. $145 per person
